Humanitarian Design Bureau

Design

A collaborative and multidisciplinary approach between all the humanitarian stakeholders

The methodologies specific to the design require a multidisciplinary collaboration in which the agents in the field and the end users play a major role. The success of a project depends on the quality of this collaboration between industry, NGOs, end users, and financial backers.

As a stakeholder in the humanitarian sector, Humanitarian Design Bureau works with various other stakeholders to identify the needs of an intervention, builds and promotes the projects, and ensures their coordination until the systems put in place in the field are sustainable.

Identifying needs

Humanitarian Design Bureau works collaboratively to help produce design briefs. Its approach meets the requirements of partners but goes further to ensure that it caters for the humanitarian sector’s full range of needs. It takes account of the limits which product life cycles impose. Humanitarian Design Bureau also tailors its work to ensure that it responds to the design demands brought both by different stages of the humanitarian aid process and also by financial considerations.

Bringing resources together

Humanitarian Design Bureau finds the right resources for the project. It identifies the partners who are crucial to the project and develops strong collaborative working relationships with them.

Knowledge sharing

Humanitarian Design Bureau is committed to facilitating the exchange of know-how and partners’ skills, whilst ensuring that the rights of all partners are fully respected.

Developing solutions

Humanitarian Design Bureau manages the progress of projects. It drives forward each stage of development and manages the productive synergy of different partners.

Sharing projects

Humanitarian Design Bureau promotes, disseminates and shares the outcomes of its projects and the ideas they generate.

Keeping costs down

Humanitarian Design Bureau’s goal is to cut down the overall operational costs of interventions, including the costs associated with manufacturing, transport, recycling and the disposal of materials.

Improve lives of end users

Humanitarian Design Bureau develops solutions that integrate social development and environmental protection of areas of intervention by promoting the suport to the revival of economic activity for end users to become again as soon as possible masters of their destiny while preserving their ecosystem.
